Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror[]

George Stobbart and Nicole Collard arrive in Quaramonte City after discovering an interesting connection between Professor Bertrand Oubier and Condor Transglobal. They don’t know what they are looking for, but the offices of Condor Transglobal seems a good place to start. Here, George meets again with Pearl and Duane Henderson. He met both of them in Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars back in Marib, Syria. This time around Duane has an important mission for “Uncle Sam”, he is trying to free Miguel who was put on jail because he was playing traditional Quaramontean music which is illegal at the time. George decides to help Duane and gather a detonator from Quaramonte Mine Co to accomplish his assignment, while Nico is unfairly tasked to distract the General Raoul Grasiento taking advantage of his weakness for beautiful woman. Unfortunately George gets caught by Renaldo and escorted to jail, where he decides to use Duane’s truck’s power to destroy one of the jail’s wall. Nico comes back just in time for them to escape in a little boat to gods knows where. Some time later at night, a helicopter flies over the boat shooting it until an explosion occurs. Luckily, George and Nico are no longer there. George wakes up from what it looks like a long and deep sleep, he finds himself in the middle of a jungle and the only thing at sight is a tree house.

  • After talking to a pair of musicians, George learns that there was a ship flying a flag just like the label with the logo of Condor three months ago at the docks.
  • George also learns about the suspicious accident at the mines in Teoculcán, Central America.
  • If George talks to the armed guard looking after the barrier about leaving Quaramonte, he asks for a brown card, an official exit visa. If you don’t have it, then you cannot leave. Later, if you ask Renaldo for the brown card he says he doesn’t understand “these things”. Fishy!
