At first he is reticent with unknown visitors that come to the villa. Lopez only wants to take good care of the Countess and don't let any intruders on the house.
Later in the story, Lopez understands that George Stobbart is only looking to help the Countess find her lost ancestors. He helps George find the missing well where the children where hidden centuries ago.
