Appearance Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars - Director's Cut
"For a room full old junk that was one very sophisticated lock system. This place was definitely fishy, in more ways than one".
- Nicole Collard

The rare artifact found at Palais Royal ,in Pierre Carchon’s safe, which holds a secret code “Sub Judice” and the boat ticket stamped “Bateaux de la Conciergerie” leads Nicole Collard to deduce that “Sub Judice” refers to a case under the jurisdiction of a court, and the ticket goes to Île de la Cité where the ancient law courts are located. Nico will have to find a way to go under the Conciergerie, in Île de la Cité.

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (Director's Cut)[]

After some intricate puzzles, Nico finds a luxurious secret room decorated with statues and flags, it reads “Fascist regalia”. Here, she realizes that someone has been following her and reading the articles she has written about the “Costume killers”.

Nico had reported that those killed were known do-gooders (See in Trivia). But she found out that they were the opposite. The killer of the murders in Italy and Japan wore a costume. So Nico is not the only one that made a connection between the Costume killer and the murders.

Later in the story, a link is made between Imelda and Pierre Carchon, and Thierry Collard (Nico’s Father) that will remain silent, Nico will tell nobody.

  • The Île de la Cité (French pronunciation: [il də la site]) is one of two remaining natural islands in the Seine within the city of Paris (the other being the Île Saint-Louis). It is the center of Paris and the location where the medieval city was refounded
  • Do-gooders: An earnest but often naïve person (typically educated and white) who wants reform through philanthropic or egalitarian means. Do-gooders always mean well but may misinterpret opposing preferences to be racist, cold, intolerant or greedy. They genuinely want human development & positive environmental awareness, although the methods are a source of debate.
